Kellmis Fernandez is a nationally celebrated
glass artist. His accomplishments include solo exhibitions at
major museums such as The Museum of Modern Art of the Americas
in Washington D.C. His work is further accomplished by inclusion
in the permanent collection of the American Museum of Glass. Mr.
Fernandez was born in 1954 in Caracas Venezuela. He studied at
the Massachusetts College of Art where he received his BA in Photography
and MFA in Sculpture. Kellmis sees glass as the ultimate sculpture
material “it is both a liquid and solid”. Within the glass he
sees this dual nature of the material in objects waiting to bloom.
In addition to being an artist, Mr. Fernandez has been distinguished
as a instructor and lecturer at several institutions such as;
MIT in Cambridge, The University of Wisconsin, Salem State College,
Pilchuck Glass School, and the Rhode Island School of Art and
Design. In recognition of his importance as a contemporary artist,
Kellmis has been invited to participate in dozens of group and
solo shows. His work has been shown at cultural institutions including;

In addition to showing at Sonnet Gallery, the work of Mr. Fernandez
can be seen at the Elizabeth Doyle Gallery in Kapalua Hawaii.
